Music, without any doubt, has to be part of a whole. Many years now, I chose a life in the countryside at the feet of the mountains….

I chose a simple life, in harmony with all animals and plants of the place.

Seeing the sun coming up, working on an orchard, gathering firewood for cooking and heating are luxuries very dear  in my way of understanding every single day… Mi Mundo Solo is the musical reflection of all of this.

What first got you into music?

When I was eight years old, my neighbor across the street brought to me a cassette (yes… a cassette… that gives my age away) and told me “you need to listen to this, it’s so good”. I put it on, and A Hard Day’s Night started playing… The Beatles, without a doubt, opened a new door in my mind.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Describing music with words is really difficult, but  I believe that “folk, western, whispers and reverberating mountains” will fit a good description.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

I used to like the idea of making music with my partner, Lola, and I achieved it hah!… but it would be like a very fantasizing dream to collaborate with Yo La Tengo… and certainly… having Ira Kaplan to lend me one of his guitars.

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

In the shower I instantly turn in the best tango singer that an invisible crowd would like to listen to.

Which famous musicians do you admire?

Ufff, that’s not an easy one, there are many, but to name a few… Johnny Cash, Yo La Tengo, Giant Sand, Timber Timbre, Laura Marling, Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan, Nick Drake, Cat Power… and my big favorite Leonard Cohen… etc, etc, etc…

Wath’s next for you?

New album with new songs for this solstice, a lot of nature and a strong desire that love always triumphs over all things.
